Four representatives from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will kick off the RISE National main conference with a policy update on Monday, March 29. The virtual live-streamed event will include preconference workshops on Friday, March 26 and the main conference March 29-30.

RISE is pleased to announce that CMS representatives will discuss the proposed model specifications in the 2022 Payment Notice, changes to the 2021 risk adjustment model, and the risk adjustment data validation (RADV) final rule. They will also provide an operations update on 2019 and 2020 RADV and Enrollee-Level External Data Gathering Environment (EDGE) Limited Data Set (LDS).

Speakers will include:

  • Erin Sutton, deputy director, payment policy and financial management group
  • Allison Yadsko, RADV policy team lead
  • Catherine Anderson, acting director, division of risk adjustment operations
  • Rebecca Paul, deputy director, Medicare plan payment group 

Their presentation will take place at 9:10 a.m. Monday, March 29, the first day of the main conference.

The three-day RISE National virtual event will feature presentations, panel discussions, and roundtables of interest to those in the Medicare Advantage and Affordable Care Act markets, including topics related to risk adjustment, quality, member experience, and social determinants of health.

Keynote speakers include Ezekiel Emanuel, M.D., who served as an advisor to President Joe Biden’s transition COVID-19 advisory board; infection disease expert Luciana Borio, M.D., who warned the public in January 2020 about the pending COVID-19 pandemic; Wendy Sue Swanson, M.D., a leader in digital health, innovation, and prevention; health care futurist Ian Morrison; and Olympic Gold Medalist Tara Lipinski.
